At Sidilega Private Hospital we have a fully digitized, multi-speciality and modern Radiology and Imaging department. In our Radiology & Imaging department digital technological advances allow for the implementation of a fully digital Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), in which images are stored electronically and available anytime, anywhere throughout the hospital and a Radiology Information system (RIS) which is a software which manages the medical imagery and associated data.
Image distribution in our hospital environment is achieved electronically by means of a web-based technology with no risk of losing images and clinicians and clinical staff able to access this system through a controlled individual password encryption.
- The Radiology & Imaging department is located on the ground floor which makes it accessible to the patients. It is proximal to the Emergency Department and enables the department to handle emergencies more efficiently.
- The department provides a 24-hour service and oversees services of out-patient clinics, in-patients, A&E, together with off-site referrals

Monday to Friday:
08:00 to 17:00hrs (early shift)
13:00 to 21:00hrs (late shift)
On-call - from 21:00 to 08:00hrs for emergencies
Saturday:
08:00 to 13:00hrs
On-call - from 13:00 to 08:00hrs for emergencies
Sunday & Public Holidays: On-call 08:00 to 08:00hrs for emergencies

Digital X-ray - Agfa DX_D600 Digital X-ray Machine with Automated Movement
Digital Mobile X-ray - Agfa DR100e with Battery operated Detector
Digital Fluoroscopy - Agfa DR800 (shall commence operations shortly)
Ultrasound& colour doppler imaging - Siemens Juniper + 4-D Probe
Digital Mammography - Fuji Amulet Innovality with the capabalities of Tomosynthesis and stereotaxis
Computed Tomography (CT) - Siemens Go Up 32-Slice Scanner. We are happy and proud to be introducing a 128-slice GE MDCT with a complete cardiac, CT Colonography, Dentascan & Bone Densitometry package; the first of its kind in Botswana expected shortly which shall be reported on by our cardiology team and radiologist.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) - Siemens Sempra MRI 1.5T. We are capable of imaging all body regions, MR angiograms, MSK, Neuro, MRCP, MR Urogram, MR venogram
Portable C-Arm - Siemens Cios Select
Hybrid Cathlab - Monoplane - Siemens Artis Zee – Has already successfully completed examinations of a Cardiac Angiogram together with an MR Conditional Pacemaker.
Currently the Radiologist reports are generated through a Teleradiology system which allows for a Radiologist to access our Radiology Information System together with our images on PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) through a secure Virtual Private Network (VPN).
All images are burnt on a CD or DVD where the software contains a Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) reader. This is given to the patients together with instructions on how to open the CD/DVD and the report included.
