Medical ward is located in the first floor opposite surgical ward, adjacent to VIP consultation room, maxillo facial clinic, urology clinic and oncology ward. The ward has 27 beds including 1 VIP room and 2 private rooms. Our 2 private rooms are also used as isolation rooms for infectious conditions. Medical ward also houses High Care Unit which has five beds. The high care unit can also be used as an Intensive care Unit since it is equipped with ventilators.
Medical ward has 15 qualified Registered Nurses and 5 health care auxiliaries. The ward admits both medical and surgical conditions. We admit patients from emergency department, outpatient department and those referred from other hospitals. Our nurse patient ratio is 1:6 meaning 1 nurse to 6 patients. All our rooms have television sets.
