Our Intensive Care Unit is situated in the 2nd floor and adjacent to Operating Theatres.
It is a ten bedded unit of which amongst the beds:
- 1 is isolation
- 2 private rooms.
The unit is staffed by highly experienced and specialized nurses and doctors.
This unit caters for patients with severe and life threatening illnesses or injuries, from different specialities.
Patients are admitted from various departments
- Accident and Emergency
- Operating Theatres
- Referrals from other hospital both Government and Private
All these patients require:
- Constant and continuous monitoring.
- Life support technologies and drugs. This access of technology is not routinely available in other units.
- Nurse patient ratio 1:1 / 1:2
- Prudent infection prevention and control measures.
